Navigating Hurricane Season: Safe Driving Tips & Emergency Kit Essentials

Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30, and in Southwest Florida that means sudden downpours, flooded intersections, and the occasional named storm. A little preparation keeps your trip safe and stress-free.

If a storm is forecast

Check the National Hurricane Center and local Lee & Charlotte County alerts before any trip. If a watch or warning is issued, keep the tank above half full, avoid coastal and low-lying roads, and don't try to "beat" a storm on the highway. If your travel plans change because of severe weather, Turo's cancellation and extenuating-circumstances policies may apply.
